The first thing to say about the ShishaX app is that you don't need it. VOLTA is a complete device without it. If you never download the app, you're not missing a feature you paid for. You're missing optional additions that some people will care about and others won't.

What VOLTA does without the app
VOLTA has an OLED display that shows temperature, session duration, battery level, and your active preset in real time. The on-device controls let you adjust heat, switch between presets, and power the device on and off. Everything you need to run a session is on the device itself.
VOLTA is not a device that buries its core functionality behind an app. If you lose your phone or the app has a connectivity issue, your session is unaffected.
Remote preheat
VOLTA takes around 8 minutes to reach session temperature. Remote preheat removes that wait. Connect over WiFi and trigger preheat from anywhere , from the couch while you're packing your bowl, from outside while you're getting the setup ready. By the time you're at your hookah, VOLTA is already at temperature.
Bluetooth has a range of roughly 10 metres. WiFi has no practical range limit within your network.
Real-time heat adjustment from your phone
Bluetooth connects the app to VOLTA for direct control when you're in range. Raise or lower the temperature, switch between presets, and monitor the session. Same control as the on-device buttons, from your phone.
Custom preset saving
This is where the app earns its place for people who care about getting the same session twice.
Every hookah setup is different. A phunnel packed with dark leaf runs differently than a vortex bowl with blonde tobacco. Once you find what works, saving it means you start from the same point every time.
Connect over Bluetooth, run a session, adjust heat until it feels right. Save as a named preset. The preset syncs to VOLTA immediately and appears on the OLED display. The app stores up to 10 presets. Over time, a well-built preset library means heat management stops being something you think about during a session.
